Friday night is here, and that means only one thing - we're ready to welcome the weekend like the wildlings of nature do.

A Friday night is the right time to go feral, like wild animals do, to open this weekend with open arms… and paws, hooves, fins, and claws. It's time to channel our inner jerboa - not because they're small rodents, obviously - but because they're nocturnal animals with one of the most impressive abilities to jump, like they're at the best Friday night party. Despite their minuscule size of less than 5 inches, jerboas are able to jump up to 10 feet when they feel threatened and their adrenaline hits - which is way more than impressive, if you ask us.

After a feral Friday such as this, it's time to take Saturday slow. And when we say slow, we mean as slow as a manatee. The manatee spends up to 12 hours a day sleeping, either drifting just below the surface or lying completely still on the seafloor, surfacing every 20 minutes to breathe without fully waking up. The rest of its time is spent slowly grazing on seagrass in shallow water. It has no natural aggression, no real predators it concerns itself with, and an expression of permanent contentment. The manatee isn't recovering from anything, but as a slow animal, it simply lives in a permanent Saturday.

And when we're so well-rested, it's time to make sure we make something of this weekend, and take Sunday in stride. For Sunday hikes and errands, we look to the humpback whale for an example. They migrate up to 16,000 miles round trip - one of the longest journeys of any mammal on Earth. And they do it without eating, running entirely on stored fat. These underwater animals truly make it count, just like we should do on a Sunday.

Just to explain why we have a dog in a cheetah meme, on a wild animal memes list - these best buddies are actually best buddies. They're not about to pounce on each other, and they're definitely not each other's prey. It's just that, despite being one of the fastest predators on Earth, with a majestic and impressive reputation, cheetahs are actually very shy. Yes, that's a thing. So, to help them get over their social anxiety, an emotional support dog might be their designated friend - because they don't know how to make any friends in the first place. But a dog is friendly, and we can always count on it to make friends. And that helps these shy cheetahs so much.
